The Corona Tapes

In August 2020, in an action to support free-lance musicians, I recorded works by Corelli, Telemann, Molter and Leopold Mozart. These tapes, rehearsed and recorded within a few days, document my love for the natural trumpet and historical performance practice. Many thanks to the outstanding musicians (see roster below) who on short notice and with professional exactness made these recordings possible through their extensive knowledge of music of the 18th century and their wonderful playing.

Archangelo Corelli (1653-1713): Sonata a quattro for trumpet, two violins and basso continuo

Georg Philipp Telemann (1682-1767): from Musique de Table, 2. Production, Ouverture (Suite) in D major TWV 55:D1, Ouverture and Conclusion TWV 50:9

Johann Melchior Molter (1696-1765): Sinfonia Concertante Nr. 2, MWV VIII 2 for trumpet, two oboes, two horns and bassoon

Leopold Mozart (1719-1787): Trumpet Concerto in D major

Rehearsals and recordings took place in the Christuskirche in Berlin-Oberschöneweide from the 24th through the 27th of August .
